Does Pine Bark Extract Improve Arthritis?

Arthritis is the most common cause of disability in the United States but there are a few things someone can do to help with the pain and prevent this condition such as consuming pine bark extract. Arthritis is a condition which causes pain in someone’s joints so when they move their muscle it feels unpleasant. As you can imagine this does hinder someone’s day to day living.

Arthritis also causes swelling and inflammation in someone’s joint area which is not good because inflammation is when someone’s immune system attempts to heal an injury but destroys healthy tissues and cells in the process.

This tree contains something called proanthocyanidins which has many healing properties. For one this herb has antioxidants in it which can eliminate free radicals that cause damage to someone’s body.

Studies also show that this herb can lower blood sugar levels helping with diabetes as well as lowering someone’s cholesterol levels and this can prevent heart disease, strokes and improve energy levels in someone.

It is believed that pine bark can help with arthritis because it reduces inflammation. Many health experts think that inflammation is a main culprit when it comes to the pain of this ailment. Also some studies show that this herb can help people recover from various forms of arthritis.

In one clinical study a hundred patients that had chronic arthritis were given either 150 mg of pine bark extract or a placebo pill that had no medicine in it. After around 3 months the group that had token this nutrient received over a 20 percent decrease in the amount of pain, and stiffness compared to the other group.
